Some children have a strong need for toys either to entertain or to comfort themselves. I did not have that need. I mostly played with kindergarten toys. The toys were dolls, phones and other imported toys from neighboring countries. I was not attached to any of those toys and those had no connection to my life that was memorable. My home in Mongolia had a few toys but my kid had many in the US.
In the US, we can possess puzzles (cognitive), stuffed animals, wooden toys (physical), plastics, chewable toys, books, (auditory) even books to read in the bath. His grandparents supported us with plenty of toys. Playing while learning is the important part of early life. Again, the child had no attachment to any toys except for one tiny stuffed dog named “puppy”.
